My favorite kind of sale today, everything in the house was marked ridiculously high. This is until I found some stacked boxes on shelves far back in the dank basement.

Possible Nazi dagger may be the best thing, I put it on "what is it" for those that know better than I do hoping for authentication. Don't laugh but the Jarts are likely a close second as the prices these bring are crazy. I bought two boxes of those.

The Marx train set got priced when I pulled it out of a box, the old lady had no idea it was worth anything and said $5 for that. A jerk called it to the attention of the ladies upstairs and ended up haggling to $50 for it.

The little tin toys are pretty popular with collectors and I got enough of those to hopefully make my money back.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

I watch this guys videos on youtube. This one might be specifically for your dagger. It is a 14 minute video but he does give tips for identifying it. The mentions a couple of dagger forums during the video.

The dagger looks like a repro from first glance to me. I've recently started collecting German WW2 items over the past year or so. The amount of fake items is unbelievable. I bought a small lot of some items off of a guy on here not too long ago actually. I had everything authenticated on another forum first though. The jarts... where do you sell them at? They aren't allowed on ebay are they? The other stuff... all great finds. Thanks for sharing.

Edit- Forgot to mention... What's up with the dude that ran his mouth about the train set? What? Was he jealous that you found it and he didn't? Or was he one of the people holding the sale?

Yep, I had to check though as I'm not familiar with them and it would be horrible to make that kind of mistake.

The Jarts may be hard to sell, there is or was a current listing today with bidding over $100, I'll give craigslist a try if they pull the listing.

Wow thanks for the info on the Jarts. My neighbor is having a sale today and tomorrow and he had a set in his rummage. After seeing how much they are going for on Ebay i ran over and bought them. He sold them to me for 3 bucks. I never would have imaged they were worth that much.

Diggumup, that's exactly what happened. Just a jealous clown. It was in my pile that I was making nearly between my legs and he tells me he wanted it. I said I found it and it's already accounted for. I was nice and polite and when he saw the older lady give the price of $5 on it he turned into a real piece of $#%&.

That's great! I got a perfect mental image of that. I would do the exact same with that sickening feeling that they're already gone.

I just looked at your thread on the What Is It page. After seeing the close ups I believe the SA Dagger may be authentic. I can post it on another forum if you'd like for authentication. Can you add a photo of the marks on the guard and the hanger straps.

The dagger is a WWII NSKK Dagger. It is identified by the brown handle and black scabbard.

The National Socialist Motor Corps (German: Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps, NSKK), also known as the National Socialist Drivers Corps, was a paramilitary organization of the Nazi Party that existed from 1931 to 1945. Basically they were the chauffeurs of the Nazi party. I bought one last year for $40, had it authenticated, and sold it for over $450. This one looks exactly the same as the one I bought. Great purchase!!

The exact identity is made by what is on the other side of the blade near the bottom. Take a pic of that and post it.

I am pretty sure it's a replica now but I'll put up some better pictures tomorrow. If I were only so lucky...If it is the replica I think it is it sure would make one crazy looking digger tool for metal detecting!

This was part of a pile that I paid $65 for.

Sounds like my kinda fun back in the day. When compound bows came out we used to shoot them straight up in the air like we had done with our recurve bows. We quickly found out that the new bows would put the arrows out of visual range...scatter and cover!

Nope, simply not doing their job for them. Sometimes boxes labeled "canning supplies" are not as advertised...there is more to the story including a beautiful Ukrainian heart-throb and the stuff not pictured or mentioned...
