- A Compass Magnum 420 recently brought back to life. And an untested "in the wild" Teknetics.
I was browsing around eBay and saw a listing for an old "Ray Jefferson Model 100" metal detector that has a dual coil, (one 9" and one 5") that can be selected by a switch on the panel.

It made me wonder how practical this is and why nobody else offers it, at least nobody that I'm aware of?
Seems to be a good idea, so long as the one coil didn't interfere with the operation of the other. Has anyone here ever tried building one of these?
