I should have done it right from the begining. I read your post everyday and am learning what I can from your post. I plan to buy a whites DFX in the spring when the freeze is over. I haved used my friends off and on until it got stolen a few days ago. I know picture are everything as I like to see your finds as well. I'll have to upgrade this 10 year old computer soon, as I can't even scan pictures on here. But I did just get a new digital camera. As you can see from my nickname they call me crazyjarhead. I served 23 years. Thank you, Ron Smith

Welcome aboard. Glad to have you with us. Great place with a lot of great people. Look forward to seeing some of your finds when the weather warms up.

A big Thank you to you and your Marine buddies for your service to our country. It is because of the men and women of the Armed Forces that we can sleep good at night. Thank you.

Personally, I want to welcome you to America. No, I don't mean that you are new here, I mean that I welcome any and every military person that has served us in foreign wars or in any other regard for our country here in the USA. I also welcome you to this site.

When I was a soldier and served in a war, I returned to find people on the political/religious left spitting at me, calling me a 'baby killer", and a murderer and war-monger. I got into a few too many fights with those who thought that the world could be controlled by campfires and marshmellows and totally hated we returning Army, Marine, Navy, Air Force, and etc military people. For 30 years a hid from society because of their hatred.

Terrorisism is not the main problem or threat to America, and neither is Usama Bin Laden, nor is Al Queda. It is Liberalism and Socialism that threatens us so dramatically and has eroded our very family life, our economy at times, our morals, and has completely ruined the economy and safety of more than 30 countries world-wide. And because of this liberalism, other more devoted religions hate us even more. When asked what makes splinter Muslim groups hate us so much, and to want to destroy us so vehemently, one very important member of the Muslim religion answered: "it is because you are all liberal, YOU hate Allah" (God).

This is why we need Soldiers and Marines, and Sailers, and the Air Force, to protect us from the very liberal ideologies that have invaded out own lives from within our own country, and from afar, and cause us to need to remove those from office who would want to hurt us, or completely remove us from the planet. My hat goes off to all those who are or were military personnel. You are welcome anywhere to me, be it out in public, or in your home, or anywhere, including right here on this site.

Welcome to America. And welcome to all the fun here too.

I'd be glad to buy you a brew Idig, and you can have mine too because I had my liver damaged in the war, so booze is no-no for me now. I'll take a Coke and a bite to eat, maybe chips too, and some hot sauce to get it all digested properly.

BTW;

Did you know that Fisher (Gerhard Fischer, the German immigrant scientist) of Fisher metal detectors, invented modern, practical metal detectors?

And mine detectors too?

He also invented geiger counters.

Compass detectors invented SAT and VSAT and fast retune.

Plus, they also invented DD coils.

A.H. Pro invented the first ground-cancel discriminators.

And George Payne perfected and improved the whole mess, especially ground-cancel discscriminators.

Erik Foster is the man responsible for the progress of most British and (all) Australian VLF and multi-freq detectors. And he is also the guilty one for us having good PI's.

Army all the way..

PS, I got the rifle. YeeeeeeeS!!!

Welcome aboard crazy jar head. Kinda curious as to if your crazy by normal standards or Marine standards ( God help you if so). Most Marines are a little off in the 1st place, especially after doing life in the Corp. HH Semper Fi, Urb. P.S. looking back I wished I had been into MD ing when at some of the places the Corp sent me, especially the Rock and 29 stumps.

Man.. lots of Jarheads around.. ;-) Semper Fi.. I got out in '89.. my 'MonkeyBoy" moniker comes from a few too many encounters with the "locals" while I was in the PI.. Good old Olongapo!! oh oh... "Crazy ex Jarhead"... now there is an oxymoron if i ever heard one!!!

Reminds me.. need to posts some of the marine buttons I have dug... always my favorite!!!

Happy Hunting...

Sometimes I hit the wrong nail though. Knocked my thumbnail clean off standing on a ladder building a two-story pole barn one day. Luckily, when I lost my balance I jumped off the thing into a pile of dirt that came from digging the post holes. I never did find the hammer I tossed.

I wonder if CrazyJarhead has tried that one? I wouldn't recommend it, it doesn't hurt forever, but it sure hurts a lot.
