At long last, the glaciers and polar bears have retreated from central Ohio. First site today was a narrow stretch of nothingness that appearently no one ever thought was worth stopping to hunt. Just a small patch of roughly wooded area between the road and the river...but it gave up the goods big today...I nabbed '34 and '36 mercs, '45 washington, 2 wheats and the "6 million dollar man airplane"...well, don't really know what kind of airplanes it is, but very cool. Partner got TEN wheats and a '41 washington.

The extra hour meant enough time for another site too! So the second site gave up the 1954 play dime, stamped in aluminum...I'd almost rather dig this than a real '54 dime, I've never seen like it before, very unusual.

Just very, very, very nice to finally to get to dig again!

That's a great day.

Those old coins are hard to come by. You have a good instinct for locations.

Well done!

I found a similar play dime before ~ did a little research on it ~ the only thing I can remember about it was that it was made by a company in Waco Texas ~ "W" mint mark above "10".

NICE FINDS!!

OK, I have to admit a bit of vanity on my part with the 2007 woods list...I wanted something fancier the clad count/roll hunt list others have in their sig lines. But you can't put that much code in the sig line (much less my fancy fonts), so I came up with a different solution...

It's not like this every hunt for me, many hard days too...and it's not by chance I dug this spot either. Not going to share ALL my secrets in public here, but it is part of a larger map study to find forgotten places. Most days all I get are shot gun shells and posion ivy...but every once in awhile I find an undug spot.

Nice silver Jim!

Last year I found a rusted tin stuffed under a crack in an old stone bridge abutment. It had early 60's porn in it...I think my spreadsheet for finds needs to be "enhanced" lol

Yeah, the finds are all good but the 2007 list is better. ;D ;D Well done!

Logging the various items can get a little burdensome so you have to draw the line somewhere. At least you are not keeping track of holes dug.

Yeah, I'll probably start slacking on the count after awhile...it's entertaining for now.

THANKS for info on play money!
