Walked up on an old campfire ring, could tell it was from yesteryear. The old hunks of burnt metal was sounding good in the earphones. Walked about five feet from the ring and got a solid hit, dug down about 6" , felt the unmistakable feel of the digging tool hitting glass so I carefully dug after that and pulled out an old whiskey bottle , the detector picked up the metal cap.The bottle reads .... FEDERAL LAW FORBIDS SALE OR RE USE OF THIS BOTTLE.....FULL PINT...And on the front, A.OVERHOLT Co..... An interesting thing is that the bottle is still half full ! :P I can picture this place being an old bum camp .

Was really trying to find coins , but no old coins today. Did find this old ornate hinge, its pretty well intact but the pin was made of iron and its rusty , so it may take a little soak to get open.

Good luck on your hunts! ;)

That whiskey bottle is cool!

I found a tiny sealed can of cat food once. At a frisbee golf course.

It's all good! ;)

Thanks for the info. Was actually able to open the hinge after a loosening up with WD40.
