Famous Trails MD9300- Whites 6000 copy??

Anyone own one of these? It looks much like a White's spin off. I heard White's made detectors for other companies such as Sears, could this be similar or a bad copy??

I've read that it is a direct knock off. Cheaper build and probably lower quality components, but it is actuall supposed to work quite well. That said, with what they cost you can probably find a used 5900 for around the same price.
