farm field yields barber dime and relics

Went out today for an afternoon hunt. Hunted a field I've been over before and tried to go slow and overlap my sweeps. Basically everything seems super deep here so anything faint sounding and/or jumpy numbers was getting dug up. Got my fair share of hot rocks and some iron. Dug a 6-7" coin that just had a strange looking rim. Looked small in diameter but wasn't shining. I rubbed it like it was an indian and saw a right facing head. Now I'm confused! After getting home and a little water wash I realized this was a toasty barber dime! How silver gets this rough I'll never know. The reverse is completely illegible. Marks my 3rd silver coin of 2018.

Also got a booming high tone that ended up being a pocket watch.....a couple of musketballs, an older looking zipper, some cap off of something with two pistols crossed (have no idea what from). Also a not too old button and the last signal before heading for my truck was an 11" deep very ornate suspender clip. Love the green patina on this. Thanks for looking and good luck everyone!

Congrats on number 3 for the year. I've dug a couple fairly worn barber dimes in our area, but not a toasty one like that. Must have been some serious fertilizer use in the past in that field. Congrats!

I like the suspender clip and that Barber is the most toasty one I ever seen. 7 of my last 8 silvers are Barbers hunting in and around pgh.

A very productive hunt.And it amazes me how some soils and fertilizer effect silver coins.Farm areas are hard on those silver pieces.I know and have had coins like yours.

Suspender. Buckles are some things my favorite relics. Anything with green patina makes me smile. Not sure how the Barber got so corroded? It's still silver. Nice hunting mate.
