I love wandering about the target rich modern parks/schools/etc. It's fun for me to dig a lot of stuff. Especially with the chance of a silver or even a ring. But, every now and then, I just HAVE to go somewhere that I feel I have a chance to find something nice and old..... Ya know?
So, this time I chose an old standby, the old mansion. Those who have followed know that I've been hunting this old mansion off and on for about a year and a half now. The finds are VERY far apart now but almost always interesting.
I've pulled my best button from here, also my oldest coin ever and several other very interesting finds.
It's not just about the finding when I'm here. There's just something wonderful in looking up from my play and seeing the scenario I'm hunting in, a grand old mansion and grounds. Kind of feels like I'm transported back, ya know?
Anyway, too late to make this short but here's the "huge" take from today:
All of those finds!!! LOL
But, follow along and look at how interesting.
32 cal
Brass and just look at that beautiful patina!
Must be an early one!
An old Brownie Scout Pin
1918 whole wheat toast.
Thought I had something here at first. Still interesting.
Then there was this very nice old piece.
I'll have to research people who lived here. See who had these initials.
Whatcha think? "ES" or "EL" ?
I think it might be a locket as well.
Interesting construction, dontcha think?
This is an old piece too. Here's what it's supposed to look like:
These words were with the pic I found:
"Very Rare Antique 1916 Mary Garden Rigaud Paris Parfumeur Goldtone Powder Can Compact ~ Heavily Embossed Logoed Lid Pill Box"
So, mission accomplished. I felt like digging something old and did.
Hopefully this hugely worded post wasn't too, too boring.
Thanks for stopping by!
