after 12 yr of mding I finally found my first indian head, 1905 and in great condition. I took off on the atv at 0500 and rode for an hour to get to the site, parked and walked about 30 ft. off the dirt and put my dector together and just finished grnd. bal. when I spied the penny laying on the surface, boy was I pumped. after 5 hr. of swinging I had found nothing else other than some mother of pearl buttons, didn;t even pickem up, got too many now. the site was covered with rusty nails on the surface and buried. I did find remains of about 6 old cots and loads of broken glass. I guess when DWP was done in the area they burned everything they didn't want to haul out, there was 3 areas that were sleeping areas 2 for work shops, all were constructed of wood sides and canvas tops, all burned.
