This was a long time coming for me.
My ring total for the year now is 140 but this is the first gold ring since number 90.
50 rings on the nose.

I had my mind made up where I was going to hunt today and when I got to the freeway the west bound onramp was closed so I went east. Good thing too. =)

I found it in left-center of a baseball field at about 6" deep with my new machine. It weighs 6.5 grams of 14k.

Also pictured is some oddball stuff. There's a weird claw thing. A coin from Kenya. A ref's coin flip coin. An earring lined with gold. There's a coulpe junk rings that didn't make the pictures.

4 more rings to tie me personal record. Then I retire at the end of the year. Well not retire but stop the obsessive behavior. My body wont take it this much fishing. My aching feet! That's what I said last year so who knows.

Good gold find. I have three AYSO tokens just like yours. I know the worn out feeling. My knees are shot more often than not. MDing Elbow and every pair of jeans I own are soiled. LOL. And I don't hunt nearly as often as I'd like. My ring count this year is a fraction of last year. My gold finds are still on par, but total rings way down. I need to get as obsessed as I was last year.

I love that ring. Anything 14k is worthy of a happy dance.

Congrats on the gold ring! Those are some interesting finds, the eye charm is a little weird tho. When it comes to MD'ing we all are a little OCD, I detect till I can't move sometimes, then wonder if I can even drive myself home! Lol!

WOW! That ring wasn't dropped, it jumped off due to it's own weight! Probably buried itself that deep just by the force of gravity alone! :)

Nice finds!

Is it marked ? Not saying yours isn't gold, but I found a similar looking with a name and mine isn't marked. The one I found looks like gold but I don't think it is.

Of course it's gold! "RG" stands for 'Real Gold'! The gram weight is definitely in the gold range. But I have found similar rings that are brass, even with the '14k' stamp inside. Wear it on your pinkie for a week and see if your finger turns green. But if it came out of the ground looking like that chances are its the real deal.

The eye charm is similar to one I found a few years back. Pretty sure its from the Middle East, where cultural superstition includes the fear of the 'evil eye'. Here's a snippet from a website:

Evil Eye -
A supposed 'power' bestowed on a person whereby his/her glance brings sickness, bad luck, calamity or death. :icon_cyclops_ani: It is said that some have the ability to project evil thought forms simply by looking at another person. Images of eyes are also thought to repel evil, and many of the more ancient gems and symbols are designed with this in mind.

Nope it's not marked but I know it's the real deal.
It passed the 14K acid test and it has a scratch on it where you can see the metal underneath is gold.
Plus it came out of the ground just as you see it. I washed the dirt out of the grooves but that's it.
It's a smaller sized ring at 6.5 grams. It's only a size 5 1/4. So it's heavy.
I tested it with my Minelab and it comes in like gold. That's not a sure test but it helps.

Maybe your ring is real. =)

I guess to get mine tested is the only way to for sure. Mine looks like gold and don't tarnish, it just looks a little "off" compared to other gold rings.
