When I started detecting in 1982 I found lots and lots of silver. When I got back into detecting this Spring, all I got was clad. I was getting pretty discouraged and wondering if there was something wrong with my detector (or me). After dinner I told the wife I was going out for an hour to the local school where I've dug nothing but clad. I tried a few different settings on my detector and before long I got a high tone signal with the right VDI number for a clad dime. Pinpointing showed a depth of 7". Hmmmm... should I dig or not? Haven't dug anything past 4" yet. Go for it. The big plug came out and I saw something shiny in the bottom of the hole. No way! YES! 1959 Rosie. I was feeling pretty good when I got another similar signal with a depth reading of 4". Gotta dig it. 1963 Rosie. I can't describe the feeling of finally digging some silver. Now to hit some of my old sites with renewed enthusiasm.
