:hello2: My fiance and I(redneck13126) went down to Binghamton Thursday to detect with Bushidodude. Another fun trip with amazing results! :icon_thumright: We arrived at our secret camping spot on a beautiful lake and mountain view, and stayed there until Friday. We detected a home site Thursday but didnt find anything great. The next day we detected an old field and that's where i took the cake for the day. Among the $3.96 in clad, I FINALLY found what I've been wanting for forever! Thanks to everybody and their wishes for me to find some silver, I found my 1946 Silver Quarter and my 1960 silver dime! :headbang: So THANKS everyone for the motivation! Now I would like to find some Mercs and more fantastic silver!

Just a suggestion: try taking a photo of the quarter as close to it as possible. Let it fill the image finder completely. Then look at the blown-up image on your computer. It looks like the rim is doubled, at the very least. There may be other indications of doubling as well, which might make this a 1946 DDO (Doubled Die Obverse).

Why is this guy so touchy...

Chick,
Congrats on the silver and I agree about the quarter being off center but not sure about the doubling.

Congrats.

Off Center coins have a small premium the more off center the higher the premium. :headbang: A small amount off center like this is maybe only a few dollars more. :dontknow: Still great job on the silver. :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft:

Keep @ it and HH !! ;D :D

It looked like fog across the lake this morning, but I guess it was you getting steamed up. :laughing7:

Nice going on the two silvers, best of luck on the next hunt. :icon_thumright:

Nice finds! I'm still looking for my 1st silver!

As for the off centered quarter, it looks (to me) like it's the photography.

The lighting coming from the right washing out the edge against the white background.

Keep searchin'
