Hello everyone! I was wondering how you guys sell jewelry with precious gem stones on them when you don't wish to hang on to them. I have a .46 carat diamond ring and an emerald ring that I would like to part with along with assorted pendants and ear rings that have small rubies and diamonds on them. I don't think pawn shops are the way to go, as most want to give you very little for what you have. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I have found the best way to do this is to sell them to somebody you know or work with. If your company allows you to post things on a "for sale board" you can get cash and not have the hassle of Craig's list or the low balling of pawn shops. You'll get the melt value for the gold or silver and very very little if anything for the stones. This has worked well for me in the past. Good luck with your sales :icon_thumleft:

Try to find a jeweller that'll do verbal visual appraisals for $5 - $10 "cash" per item.
Write down everything the jeweller says or tape record it.
Then post the items at a fair price, in other words a "decent price",
on either Craigslist or Kijiji in Indiana. :icon_thumright:

Good luck,
Dave
