That is awesome. Look up "bamboo railway" to see another great example.
How long does it run for? Those pump thingy carts on rails would be one hell of a way to give Eco friendly tours.
The fact that you modified your bikes is genius.
Better hope you never run over one of them Torpedos they strap to the rail when they want to stop a train! High explosive!
Or get stuck on a Bridge. Fall in a switch.
That would put a spike in your arse!
We used to let the air out of tires on an old chevy with a throttle cable. Sit on the front of the car drinking a cool one and wave at the people stopped for the signals!
Most eco friendly way would be an Air powered car you could just hook it straight up to the Lost Dutchman thread and automatically fill it full of hot air!
We put in just to the east of Florence Junction, Rode into the mountains about halfway to Superior (Queens Station) , and then back down.
It was very scenic, but we had many bullets wising over our heads, from all the target practice in that area. We did not expect that!
Never mind all the superstitions in the Superstitions, we could have been yet another causality of a stray bullet!
The heat coming off the tracks does that affect you guys in any way or is it not that hot yet?
We were required to wear heavy clothing for protection from the 150 degree heat that reflected off the ties and road bed not to mention the rails.
Be careful stay safe.
Make that in a solar powered battery hybrid with a small but powerful air tank for boosting up the grades. Compressed air becomes cold when it expands so you could hook up some sort of AC blowing in your face. Put an extra seat on there a sidecar maybe and give tours by rail have some small stage stops that serve beer give out Maps for the LDM and back rubs for those that need it maybe some guided hikes to a toilet pit!
It screams sidecar!
A Rail Bike Built For Two!
Double Gandy Dandy!
Don't forget the Whistel!!
Take a DC generator and jumper cables slap some power on the rails and wha-la you have a DC powered Bike!
Been up and down Hewitt Station rd many times. After you make the left towards Queen Valley, and the the right on to HS Road, cross the tracks, and everybody shoots there guns into the hills and mountains north of the road.
Of course there are a few strange souls out there also.
If you go to the dam, there are usally about a dozen or more out there in that area as well.
Be carefull of that area as you have just found out.
