Got out for a few hours yesterday, a very nice day to get out. Temps in the upper 50's, lots of winds and partly cloudy. We had some rain last week and then again, this weekend both days. So, I want to get out between the rain.
I had not had a lot of time this year to hit the fields due to family.

I thought this was a pestle base staring at me, but it was not - bummer.

A nice hafted scraper - compelte.

A broken Harrisson county flint bifurcate. The break is recent, so its possible i already have found the other half or will. I will have to check my field site bags.

A nice large, hafted scraper. It's in the trough of a row, it may have been covered in the next heavy rain.

The hafted scraper came up with the clod under it, showing a nice pedestal that it was on.

That's some nice finds, and some nice shots of how they look "in the wild". It makes me want to go for a walk with my eyes to the ground....

I always enjoy getting out and talking a look. But looking and finding is even better. That looks like a great walk by the finds. Is the dark point a LeCroy?

A good day for sure. I've not been out looking for artifacts for some time now. A couple weeks ago I sat for an hour for an onsite visiting orientation to a large dam project I'm doing business with. The film we watched went over what we must do if we come by any possible ancient site or artifact abd what those mightlook like. Very strict instructions to not touch it and report it so the archeologists can be notified to investigate. They emphasized strongly you are not to pocket even an old nail or a piece of broken glass.
