Went down to the oceanfront right after the fireworks were over for the evening. Low tide was right then so I only had a couple hours to hunt till it cam back up. It was a pretty good hunt for about 1/2 the amount of time that I usually have. I ended up with 4 rings. A junk Va Beach ring, a silver and a big men's band (large diameter) that rang up once again in the penny range at a 12.30 on the CTX, 10K 5.4 grams. The last one is one of those ear/lip spacer things. Why do they do that? LOL I guessing it's for ears but It could always come from "somewhere" else.......I'll try not to think about THAT after handling it!

Good luck all, and hope ya had a good 4th!

Awesome Stuff. Last night the neighborhood sounded like Beruit in the 80's. Having recently moved from a small Beach community to Fullerton Calif. this was a bit of a surprise. I can't believe all of the fireworks.
On to the finds and the CTX. You say a penny rings up at 12.3? DO you know if there is a list of what rings up at what? As a rule? If there was a reference table I think it would help me understand my beast a little better. The CTX is confusing at times and sometimes I can't really understand what I am hearing. My first few weeks I was ready to toss it in the River. But let me tell you, it absolutely finds everything. Yesterday I am getting a signal in the 14's at 3 " I am sifting and pinpointing. Its in my hand then not and back in my hand. It was ringing on the smallest little bead of brass. I must have sifted it out of my hand 5 times but it sure as Shinola was there! Great finds! I love the CTX at the beach. It is a deep seeker there!
Cheers
