Hey everyone, the weather was nice yesterday so I was able to get out to a campground from the 1830'-1850's. I personally found 2 buttplates and my two friends found 2 each. Along with those is a spur, ramrod guide, and the a homemade pewter whistle which works. I also found these lead bars only a few are pictured. And any idea on what those buttons are called.
What has me intrigued is this small cut piece of silver. It has been holed 3 times and tested positive for silver. From what I read 2 reales were 25mm and that measures out right for this since a quarter is 25mm and it fits on a quarter quite well. It is paper thin and I still need to clean it. What do you guys think? I have never found one before and will post pics after cleaning.
