First Coin find

First coin find today 4/10/17 been detecting 3 days now, found one steel penny by a lake at the park and a plethora of aluminum pull tabs.

Spend some time by the playgrounds in the park, around the swingsets, along the1st and 3rd base fence lines at the baseball field and where the spectators watch the soccer games. You will have a better ratio of coins to pulltabs there. Good luck. If that is an actual Steel penny it would be quite a first coin find BTW

Get used to them pulltabs, there are plenty of them out there. And sometimes they give off coin indications--especially if they are buried deeper then 2". I know it can be aggravating, but it's part of the hobby. Good luck and welcome to the club.

They could also sound just like & hit at the Gold Ring range. So dig them all.

Nice, I'm new to the hobby myself, been out for a hunting for a few months now and was so excited when I found my first coin (1953 wheat penny) since then I found so much. (Hint) hunt where alot of people gather. I hunted an outdoor concert arena in Cleveland and found 8 rings.
I'm getting hooked. Lol good luck my friend, stick with it..
