Finally scored my first Confederate state button of the year a North Carolina state button that was dug in Orange,Virginia in a camp we use too hunt few years back. Was digging into a pit and this was mixed in there with bunch of nails and iron! dug two pits out in 4 hours and this was the only thing that came out that was anything good (in a well hit camp). Will have too put a few days Tender Loving Care into this button and it should clean up better than what it is now!! Already spent 3 hours cleaning it with ammonia soap and she is starting too come out! I will def. take this button any-day even though not the best condition for it laying in a pit for 150 years but it sure does beat a eagle or ny militia button!

Great button - that's one you don't often see. Good luck with the cleaning.
