I've practiced in my yard and watched a bunch of youtube about my at pro. Time to give it a whirl. Great weather in Pittsburgh today, so I hit a friend's buisness property (used to be a school) to practice and hopefully find something. Much to learn, the area had lots of trash and ground was hard to dig with small hand shovel. I found a 1980's penny and a small token of some sort (don't think it's that old). Its a start. Can't wait to get back out, only covered small area.

Nice token! It is not listed in Aqua's Pennsylvania Merchant Tokens book, nor is it on tokencatalog.com - It is probably from the tavern of somebody with initials I. M. C. and that may be a bit difficult to determine. Local records may help. What is on the reverse? Please consider posting pics of both sides on tokencatalog where more eyes can see it and perhaps identify who and what.

Thanks for the feedback. The token back was smooth with no marking. Wealth of knowledge available from everyone on this site.

You're well on your way cpman. Keep at it and you'll definitely find some great stuff. Remember it's not the glaringly obvious hard signals you dig necessarily, it's the deep chirps. Go for "old ground" and swing slow. Good luck:)

Nice finds, when you have the capability to find treasure, digging everything becomes fun with a lot of mystery, how cool is that? Keep on keeping on, cool finds, thanks for sharing.
