It's been years since I went metal detecting folks. Me and my brother used to do it big time in the late 70's and early 80's He passed away in 1993 and I just gave up doing it without him. Well my wife got me a Bounty Hunter for my birthday and I took it out in the woods in our backyard yesterday and got a good signal. I passed over a ton of junk metal pings and then this one signal kept hitting all the way up. So I started pin pointing it and digging around. At first I thought it was some old jar lid but then out came a pocket watch. Man it's been years since that old feeling has been around. I sure have missed it. The watch turned out to be Hong Kong junk but I still like it. Now I got the fever again!

Thank your wife for me, she did the right thing getting you that BH for your birthday, I can see that a relapse of the obsession is coming back strong. Congrats on pulling that pocket watch.

By the way, welcome to Tnet and I look forward to reading more of your posts and seeing more of your finds.

AWESOME! The thrill of the hunt is amplified by confirmation of a great find, but never diminished by lack of one. Welcome back to the addiction.

Welcome back to the hunt! :occasion14: We look forward to your future hunts. Must be lots of CW relics to find.

I started off the Hobby with a BH and it wasn't long before I was pulling items from the 1700's & 1800's.

your wife is either gonna be thrilled you are back into it...or not so thrilled when she rarely see you anymore.Remember these excuses...they really work

tall grass in the yard is the new green
the garage is fine, those are all collectables
the trash is safer right where it is
what?I'm going hunting for you babe..I want you to have the best.

yup...hooked again !! welcome back and to t-net !!..:occasion14:

Welcome back, that's a pretty cool watch.

"Guys wife buys guy a Bounty Hunter, guy gets hopelessly addicted to detecting." Haha, heard this story before....hey Vino? Lol!

My wife actually had "the talk" with me the other day...apparently I need to detect less and spend more time at home....sigh.

Great to hear you have gone back to detecting. That is a real long dry spell between hunting times.I hope you will keep at it. What machine did you originally use?

Yep.....fell off the wagon!! Addiction will do that. Sometimes you can control them but they are hard to cure. Won't be long you'll wonder why you even tried. Welcome back and welcome to t-net.
