Today I finally decided to take my young (14) Twin brothers in law metal detecting. I had just got my new detector so I could lend the 350. We decided to hit a block with a couple mid 19th century homes that were all demolished. After digging a 1944 Wheat after 2 hours of work my brothers were getting a little tired. Finally we hit something a sterling pin which looks air force. After the pin we got motivation to keep going for a little longer. After digging several keys and smaller relics we decided to settle in to this honey hole we had going. I had hit a nice 49 50 signal on the deus 4 feet from where my brothers were digging and out popped this beautiful gold ring. I screamed and over they walked, we all admired the ring for a little and we decided to call my wife to boast a little. Right before I got off the phone my wife had said "great now go find me a gold coin". I looked down again at the ring remembering I've seen something like it before on youtube.(JDSCoins) mentioning it to my brothers we ran back to the hole stuck the propointer in and bam! Out popped the gold coin ( 1945 dos pesos) we were all excited and dancing around and decided to call my wife once more to give the good news. We decided to stay for one more hole before we left to go show off our spoils and out popped the 1919. Not sure if there is a mint mark yet and not sure about the purity of the ring looks 14k to me though(4.4 grams). Just happy to finally find my number 1 bucket list find after coming up on my second year detecting . Thanks for looking and happy hunting to you all and good luck searching for your very own. Yes, only through the back will the coin fit. It was held by two small prongs bound to fall out eventually.

I think it looks better out of the ring, in fact, I would scrap the ring for cash. CONGRATS

Great 90% pure gold coin! I believe this is just over 21 karat gold. Ring for it would be 14K and the Army pin is old so it should be silver!

Great finds

Cheers

Wow. Nice score!

Just looking at the size it's no wonder it was lost!
