First hunt of 2013, and with my new garret pinpointer

Only got in about an hour today, not too bad found a old Case knife.. Rusted to all get up, but everything I find is a round silver piece that has no markings and no loop for the thread. It's not magnetic so not sure what it is. And wondering what the copper thing is either. any ideas?

It's ESSENTIAL. The one thing you hike/walk/drive however long it takes to get if you forget it. I can't find a damned thing in sand without it.

I found that when I press the tip against something it goes off like its picking up something. Only complaint
