I went out to several fields today with my cousins and got some pretty awesome stuff.
We left at 12:45, and found a field at 2:15. I start detecting, and on my first hole, its can slaw. On the second, it's a thin piece of copper
On my 3rd hole, I got a 1773 1/2 Reale! My first (1/2 reale, silver of 2011, 1700's coin, 1700's silver, Spanish silver)!
That made my day right there and then!
So then I'm swingin', and I get another signal. This time, it's a tombac button that someone had carved the letters CC into.
Surely my best button find.
I found a bunch of other stuff such as 3 1/2 more buttons (two of which without a detector, all were metal), a hem weight, pottery, glass, crock, a buckle, two lids, a good luck token and a 1916 wheatie.
Then, one of my cousins had to go home so he could sleep before work. So My other cousin, his wife, and I go to some other field closer to where we live. We looked for arrows and did some surface hunting. I found the usual pottery, glass, crock, etc, a tombac button, and when we are in one spot, I pick up a piece of flint. It was almost dark so I really couldn't see it. I handed it to her, and by the light of her cell phine, she says it is a gunflint! My very first one! We later confirmed what it was as we ate dinner at 99.
All in all, I made many firsts. The 1/2 reale, which was my 1st 1/2 reale, silver of 2011, 1700's coin, 1700's silver, Spanish silver, the hem weight, the gun flint, and the carved button
I will post more pictures tomorrow as my camera died..
Happy Hunting!
