First Silver Coin

Hunting with my Dad yesterday. I found my first Silver Coin on my first relic hunt. It was a 1937D Mercury Dime on an old WWII Military Base. We could only hunt for about 15 minutes but we are going back soon for a full day of hunting. I also found a brass key tag with the number 6 on it.

That's my boy. Teaching him well. He got about 20 mosquito bites for that old dime so the bug did actually bite! We will have to use more Deet next time.

I love finding the Mercury Dimes..and it seems like it's ones right of passage..the 1st silver ya find are mostly Mercs....at least thats been the trend lately

since them i have found 3 more silvers one was a merc also my first.

I like silvers and I like mercs. You found both soon. I still remember, and you will too, my first merc. The U.S. is full of mercs. I always say that Merc dimes are gods gift to metal detecting. You will be finding Mercs 40 years from now. Good Job!

Yeah that was a pretty amazing find for me i want to get more like that in the future. I just started treasure hunting. Thanks for all the replies!
