Was supposed to hunt a house built in 1850 today that ran along a canal that had been used since the early 1800s. When I turned on my at pro the VDI jump and erratic chatter sounded like I have heard with invisible dog fence. Checked with the owner and there wasn't one. Tried to GB but even up at 99 it was jumping the VDI all over the place. Went to the next property over ( it was over 100 yards which rules out wireless router) and it was just as bad and jumpy. I was bummed out I say the least and left.

Anyways, I was relieved that once I got to a park the chatter was gone so I know it wasn't my machine. Found these two dimes under an evergreen tree. Moved in to a yard and found my first silver half. Gouged it a little bit which I never do and kinda is a bummer. ( it's by the sun on the obverse) So all in all not a bad day. The walking liberty was about 5-6 inches down, found with my 5x8 coil and rang in at 91 if I remember.

Looks like "someone" wanted you over where you found the half! LOL

With the AT-Pro, sometimes, you can change the frequency it's running on. (There are 4 available). It might get you around air interference. High tension wires, etc.

Also, drop the sensitivity to see if that helps.

Hope you get it figured.

Nice saves.

Great Walker.

Why don't you carry it? It should get a few looks when you pull it out of your pocket.

The only thing that cool is a Morgan Dollar.

Sweet finds, the detail on the half is awesome! I hope there wasn't a live wire in the ground where your detector was having fits.

Great find a Walker Half, don't get much better then that!
Try changing your frequency, while you are there. Where was your sensitivity set at? Are there any high tension wires or underground electric wires? I know you asked about dog fence, what about other things. I hope you get it figured out.

Nice half I've found two of the same year. Yours is more detailed then both of mine. Found them with my pro. Hope you find more. I know of a spot that sound like yours with a big power box about twenty feet away. Be careful were you dig. Good luck.
