I'd like to tell all of you about my first silver find in 6 yrs. of MD. But, I can't.

My employer has fifteen acres that once was part of a farm. His dogs have been digging around a dump area. I asked to check out some botttles and had a great time. A lot of rusted cans and older bottles. I dug into a hill about three feet and out popped a orange marble, as I was cleaning it off I saw something shiny in the ground. Sure enough, it's a '47 dime. My first silver, and my MD was nowhere around. Maybe I should stick to the bottle dumps...no pic yet.

It happens, beach comers do it all the time without a MD and find all kinds things.I found both gold and coins without a sweep but I was looking down.
Whatever you do it would'nt hurt to have that detector sitting close by.
