Today I found my first silver Washington Quarter!:icon_thumright: I could hardly believe it when I pulled it out of the ground! I had to look at it a few times to makes sure...YES! It was right at the end of the day and it had already become dark. I finally have a silver Washington! IMG_4756.JPG IMG_4760.JPG

Nice! A classic 1943 silver Washington! And very good condition too! Maybe lost by a WWII serviceman while he was on leave or before he left for the war in the Pacific!

Congrats on finally pulling your first silver Washington Quarter. :occasion14: It took me 4 month to find my 1st. You broke the ice, now they will appear more frequently under your coil. GL & HH

UnderMiner: Thanks! Yes this area is full of history from WW2. I actually found the quarter and the three wheat pennies in a park that first opened in the 1920s!
sutphin: Lol Lilly isn't my real name...Thanks! I am excited about this one!
Keep On Diggin: Thanks! It's out there! Keep searching! Maybe the sites you've gone to aren't old enough? When there isn't silver, it's usually because the site isn't the best site...Silver is often about location....Do you find wheaties?
thrifty76now: Thanks! It has a very small dent in it on the back so I'm not sure if it would be AU :/
Thanks IndianaHunter27!
Billinoregon: Thanks! Keep looking! They're out there! It took me 10 months to find a Washington, though I found many dimes...
Sooper Dave: Thanks!
Loco-Digger: Thanks! 4 months? What year did you find? I've found a Canadian silver quarter but never a Washington before...HH and GL to you too!
cjon455: Thanks! I definitely agree!
relic nut: Thanks! '43 seems to be a theme with me lol I also have a nickel, and a half dollar from 1943 :)

Got my first 1937 silver quarter last week. It's the first "old" coin I have found. Most of where I hunt is too new of area to find those.

That's a very good find that still surprises me when I see so many say they have never found one. Congrats to you:thumbsup:

You're killin' that silver!!

Many congrats on your 1st. silver Washington. May it be the first of many.

That's awesome it showed up at the last minute too.
These short days are definitely putting a damper on things. I've done a few night hunts myself lately. When I'm in "the zone" and it gets dark I just can't bring myself to stop.
I think my night vision is actually getting better too.
