Hello Jimmy, & Welcome to the forum...
I think the Cz-5 is probably just as good as the 3D... I use a 3D now, but I can't tell a whole lot of difference from it and the CZ-5's I have used... The 3D in enhanced mode does make a few things read at a higher ID level, causing you to dig more targets. I have found this feature to help in certain situations, but in high trash areas it can be a burden... The CZ-5 does have a speaker, as does the 3D. I kinda wish the 3D was like the older CZ-6's, without a speaker & water proof, to an extent, it would be better for hunting in the light rain...
I'm sure if you get any kind of good Fisher, you will like it. The machines will go very deep.
Good Luck & Happy Hunting~

I have had a CZ 5 for a few months now and I love it. Good depth, lite weight, good discrimination ,and very easy to use. I have had three other name brand detectors but this by far is my favorite.Turn on,quick and easy ground balance and start hunting.
