I ran across an old house site doing a little research.

Found 11-12 Wheat Pennies, a 1942 Mercury and 1946 Roosevelt Dime.

And this button. Marked "Benedict & Burnham, Extra". A little research indicates that back mark was from Connecticut and used from 1834 to 1843. The dirty yellow looking stuff on the button is gold plating. This was the only thing that old that I have found on the site.

You bet I am going back again.

I like finding the old buttons, they have a little history behind them, you found a very interesting old button, I like the way they print the makers name on each so we can trace the history about it
