go to your local library -- look in the world coin book that list coins from all over the world and their metal content -- I have found a number of foreign silver coins ---especially arabic ones that many coin dealers just dump into their "culls" box (10 for a buck ) rather then spend the time and effort to properly ID --- I just love getting a nice bit of silver on the cheap like that - my latest one was a 1932/ 1933 era iranian silver 5 rail coin from the shahs days --its really simple to id --- on one side in the center is a heart shape (the arabic symbol for 5 ) on the other side ---at top is a crown and also a lion with a sword raised in one paw (the shah's "family symbol")---- good luck --- Ivan
