Don, congrats. You have found another real. This one is a pillar type from Ferdinand VI or Philip V, they overlaped in 1746 I can't see your picture too clear but it looks like Ferdinand on the side oposite the dated side. Congrats on an awesome find...Lance

thanks all
i found it in kent county New Brunswick Canada a couple of weeks ago
i just now was able to bring the pix below the 128k mark
it was minted in mexico city and it seems to be ?silver
on the front it say's VTRA QU "it looks like an" E vnum
the other side at the top is unreadable

I found it on a sandy shore were i guess there is a quick erosion
right at the low tide mark

Nice find. What is the history there? Could these both be from a shipwreck?

there is a old fort about a mile away
i have not heard of any ship wrecks around that area but there was a lot of shipwrecks at the mouth of the river system I've been searching
i belive that the coins i've been finding were lost by fishermen a lot of fishing and logging around here
in those days

Being that old I'd bet shipwreck.
