Nope.

That's been in every war afterwords though.

It's a U.S.Army Great Seal button (general service) ... dates depending on the backmark and shank type... it's been in production since 1902. Still used today.

This is just an educated guess, but that sort of design looks like buttons I've seen that are WW2 vintage. Maybe a button off an officer's Class A uniform.

I think it's a lot more modern than CW, but it's an excellent find anyway.

I JUST TALKED MY BUDDY INTO BUYING A DETECTOR, HE FOUND THIS AT A OLD HOME PLACE. HE BOUGHT A TESORO DELON. I FINALLY HAVE SOMEONE TO GO DETECTING WITH. ;D

Apparently, someone came home from the war. If you find 30-06 blank brass casings in the area, it was an area used for maneuvers during WW2. These are common sites in Tennessee and sometimes overlay CW sites. Those brass casings will drive you nuts since they read like a button but you must dig them. Good find and good luck!
