So I'm getting married tomorrow and my future father in law took us out for a fancy meal. Low and behold a bit of gold leaf on my salad!

The th'r in me wanted to get it and roll it up and pocket it! When I think of all the hard work the guys in the mining forums are doing it makes me a little irked, the world is a crazy place! I know it's a tiny amount, but still!

Anyway, I ate it!

That must have been one fancy restaurant.

Is eating gold good for you?? I've heard of using gold to treat certain medical conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis but I've never heard of serving it in a salad. That's crazy.

I guess he got his moneys worth.

Oh, and congratulations on your marriage. May it be a long and happy one.

You should've excused yourself and went around to all the other tables and kitchen and grabbed 'em all up! LOL

Congratulations! And, you have all my sympathy. ;)

OK to eat gold as it is inert. The gold foil is so thin it isn't noticeable. Its use a lot in "Very" expensive chocolates.

It tasted like excess!

Actually it didn't taste like anything at all. Nobody better be following me around with a pan though!

In my younger days I drank enough Goldshlager to poop a nugget! It had gold leaf floating around in it.

I would absolutely be taking my MD to my abdomen....just because. I have metal in my knee and that's good for occasional entertainment.

Congratulations on your marriage! Hope the wife is an MD'er too! May you have a long and happy marriage!

I would have wanted to do the same thing, but I may not have had the same control and would probably have done what WHATDIFIND said and went around collecting the golden lettuce! Lol!

I used to get bottles of Goldshlager and collect all the little flakes, then they stopped putting as much gold in it so I stopped buying it. So ya I would be the nut collecting the golden lettuce!
