Hey all -

Need some help here. Someone my wife works with brought this sword in today. She said that her husband used to do concrete over 50 yrs ago in Cape May and would have to get sand from the beach areas when he found this. Does it look familiar to anyone? Told her I would try and get some info. Any help would be appreciated!

This is not a bayonet. There is no way to secure it to a rifle.
It's some type of sword but I have no idea what it is.
It looks like the short sword that was used by the Roman Gladiators.
I am sure is not but it looks like a well built blade.
Hope this helps.

Looks like a long dagger to me, this Spanish colonial dagger has a similar shape:
Sailor in Saddle

If you contact the guy on that site he might identify it and be able to give you a price - just keep us up to date if you find out :)
