It's not a water machine. It's a good relic machine the way I hear it. There are some old timers that swear by them.

I love old stuff, but this one appears....uhmm....ergonomically-challenged! Unless that huge "U" loop is designed to have some additional use(s) if you've had a terrible day in the field...?

"MF" = metal finder, or the expletive used after attempting , unsuccessfully , to use this beast ??

I've heard that they are still being made and they will update your old machine for a fee. One of our local 'old timer" Detectorist swears by his. He has had it since the 70s and says it is still one of the best relic detectors. He updates his every few years. Great find!

I believe mf is for medium frequency but I won't swear to it.

For the 10 buck investment, I'd put it away. It could be worth thousands, fifty years from now. It's a cool tool... Keep It

That's an old one my friend, and in pristine shape. Those were built by Jerry Tyndall in Coats N.C. I use a nautilus DMC 1, or up until this past weekend when it crapped out! Glad mine don't have that type of handle
