Found ipod shuffle today

Left the stuff in my truck so no pics right now, but today i had some good finds. Several coins at one park then nothing at the next and just before i left i found an iPod shuffle. The parks were damp and the mulch in the playground was wet so signals were really coming in from deep. What showed as two inches was over six inches deep.
I wonder if i take the ipod to the apple store if they will contact he owner and return it?

Here are a couple pcs of the ipod. It looks like its mostly dirt, hopefully i can reunite it with its owner.

I didnt try to power it up. Now that you asked that i will try that. I was thinking it was like my old iPod touch, out the wrong password in and its locked but its not that way. I will clean it up a little once it dries and try to power it up or charge it.
