Found this Army button today, any ideas on this one???Cival War YES INDEED!!!!

i found this button today with an indian head penny-1880. i also found a ring and some wheat backs. any info on the button would be appreciated. it was about 6 inches down in some nasty soil. the injun should clean up nice. thanks , josh

Again, the button could be pre CW, CW or even post CW depending upon the exact backmark on it. :)

According to Alberts, RI 33 the backmark should be "*D. Evans & Co.*/Attleboro Mass" In WILLIAM F McGUINN and BRUCE S BRAZELON book, made between 1850-1880. Warren K Tice says between 1860-1880. good button, nice hunting!
