Please attach a few photos of the item in full: a side view, a top and bottom will help everyone try to offer an answer.

Also in each photo, place a US quarter or penny alongside the item when taking the photos; so we can better understand the scale/size.

Good hunting!

I noticed this was your very first post Ginchristie - so, Welcome Aboard! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

It's sandstone I believe.
15 inches long, 9 inches at it's widest.
It weighs approximately 20lbs.
I found it in north east Ok.
Cherokee nation.

There are many here whom are very good on research/knowledgeable opinion, unfortunately I am not one of them. My uneducated guess: native American carving of a tortoise which played a roll in their lore.
The knowledgeable ones should be chiming in any time now.

Welcome to Tnet. Cool find. Amazing it is still in one piece. To give it a little more exposure try posting over on the North American Indian Artifact forum.

That belongs in a museum, imo.

Its pretty cool whatever it is. If its old, then it is amazing. The rib marks look fresh to me but I am not an expert.....

Now that is neat ... It looks like "horned toad" rock art.
