:hello: all..

went back to the road this afternoon for a four hour hunt, the first thing I got was 20minute thunder storm :( but at least it dampened the rock hard surface down :laughing9:

first find of the day turned out to be a whopping Roman Bronze coin :laughing7: weighing in at a massive 22gr and 33mm in diameter. has to be my biggest ever :headbang:

mannaged two more hammered coins, one a short x of King John 1199-1216 this is my third full John, the outher hammered is a cut half penny of Henry111..1216-72 :read2:

Total of the road so far.

Hammered coins...10

Roman Silvers.........2

Roman Bronze ......50

Gold ring :laughing7:

Celtic Terret Ring :headbang:

Roman Belt Mount

Roman Brooch :notworthy:

any way enjoy the pictures :thumbsup:SS.

I'm not so sure it's Nerva as his coins always depict him as having a hideously large nose. Here's a couple of examples. :dontknow:

I stare in awe when viewing the 2,000 year old coins you Brits find regularly. Here in San Diego, I stare in awe of any coin I find that is over 50 years old!
All the best,
Don....
I have said this many times on here Don, we are very lucky here in the UK ::) the shear range of history and finds we have here is huge, you guys have it tough over there :'( but still there are some remarkable finds that come from US soil :o

That is one nice place............and the coins are being dug up for you.......well, not really. You are going to have a large collection of coins when that project is over in the years ahead :icon_sunny:

Did you post an image of the Nerva reverse?
What is the reverse image, letters and/or words?
Can you determine if the obverse 'COS' is followed by a 'II' or 'III'?
I'm still looking for a better image of the same coin.
Don.......

You guys were hammering out bronze coins while we here in America were still hammering out stone. Whats up with that?? haha.
Great finds and post as always. Always fun to see what you have found.
Thanks.
