Free Treasure Hunter Digger (with purchase of MD at Kellyco) broke the first time I used it. This digger is also in some of the recommended accessory packages. Its totaly useless for MDing. I used it successfully a few times as a pooper scooper and should have kept using it just for poop.

looks like a turd would have eventually broke that one! :P i had one too i got with my 2500. i think i dug 1 hole with it before i got the same result. its a waste of metal and wood!

This is what you get when they offer "FREE STUFF." It you were to Take the price of all the FREEBIES they offer, the real value isn't worth it. I don't go for returned detectors gussied up with new decals either, not saying they do this............... :-\

Don't put anything with any weight in that pouch, you may wind up with a big bruise on your toe! ;)

And I'm also sure they do not do this.

This was started by another Dealer.
and I delete accusations they do this.

On the Shovel, They probably orderd a crate, & when they got them
they saw how cheap they were made.
Then figured there is no way they can Charge what the manufacturer
wanted. so they are giving them out so newbies at least have something to start out with.
Just My take, on what I'd do in their place.

Nice thoughts Jeff, I never thought of this. Giving them away like this if they received them as defective or not as ordered. I have to not let past experiences cloud my judgement. Being stung by a bee, still doesn't make me wanna play with them.

Sorry to hear you had a Bad Expierence Man.

Selling them , Calling them Defective & replacing them Continuosly
would be Expensive. Being Free they can just say, "OH WELL" :P
"you get what you pay for :D " and not feel bad.

I'v handed a few Cheepies out to Kids I'v come across

Wow, that's pretty shoddy workmanship if you ask me. I like the Lesche and the diggers that Mighty AP sent me, I'm sure those will never break for fail.

In all fairness, I still got a good deal on my Ace 250. I also negotiated a free Garrett rain cover. The pooper scooper only comes free with the lower priced MDs. They say its a $19.95 value and the sheath $9.95. Kellyco gives a free Gator Digger with purchase of a higher priced MD.

Granted not all things you get as extras from KellyCo are good. Some that I have gotten and like are, detector bag for a Minelab explorer, a 2 year extended warranty, Gator digger, coil cover, 5 inch coil, and my favorite a minelab belt and finds pouch. Not so good, civil war disc, cheap detector bag, cheap pocket knife, magnifier, sheath knife, KellyCo finds pouch.

While I have never ordered anything from Kellyco, I have used diggers like that in the past. I used the one that I got in a free garden kit. The same thing happened on the first hunt. Mine was not designed to dig, but to move soft soil/sand. Diggers like that are great for use in the sand and no place else.
I would have to agree with Jeff as to the fact that they were seconds, very poorly made, etc and that Kellyco could not/would not sell them so they gave them away for free. JMHO.
