Happy Friday 13th to all. Hope you proved the myth wrong like Treblehunter and I did ( separate hunts, FYI ). The day started out with an eyeball find...a neat religious shield medal when I went to get my English wench milk for her tea.

After she got home from work, I decided to go check a cornfield I have been waiting to get cut. It was cut but had to go find the owner and get permission. An elderly lady answered the door at the first place I tried and said her hubby owned the field and " We do not allow that " when I asked about detecting. Darn Fri 13th anyway! Grumbling, I texted Chris and as he said " the saga continues " lol, meaning our string of bad luck was holding up still.
I decided to go give a try at a previous permission I had done twice before, once alone and then again with Chris. This was the place that gave me a Barber quarter and Barber dime, and I guess he did ok there too lol.
Today, I got a warm welcome from the owner and a yes. All tones were iffy and you had to really work for them. No clear, repeating ones like before. This was my first time there with the F75 and it didn't disappoint. Sorry for rambling but can finally say I got the cent trifecta and another first. Enjoy the pics. These are still dirty. I have them soaking in mineral oil at the moment.

Thank you Sub! Chris stole the Indian right in front of me to spoil my closest one before this!

Thanks Chris. I appreciate that. Wish you had been able to get out with me this week. Let's keep our fingers crossed for the warm December and you guys filling your deer tags early so we can hunt again this year.
Way to go on that 3cent nick.

Congrats Dave.
Thank you George. I only concentrated on the front yard of the old 1830's farmhouse again because I wanted to see what the F75 would give me. Chris and I were still using the ATP's when we were last there. I guess we cherry picked the easy stuff before lol.
Really?

Lol. I thought wench sounded better than tart:laughing7: I can't call her a lass anymore...she is 50 now lol.

Thank you very much sir! I have been trying to keep up with you and your F75. It's a good detector, isn't it?
Sounds like today is your lucky day!
Thank you very much! If you only knew how terrible 2015 has been as far as detecting goes, you'd really appreciate this hunt. Thanks for the look.

Nice hunt, your turn down on the permission might have been a good thing.

Thanks Gary. This isn't the first time plan B has worked out lol. Never give up, right?

Thanks Dave. It is soaking with the others still, but I believe it was a 55 ( wouldn't that be something if it had been a 1909 S VDB? ).
Nice hunt, your turn down on the permission might have been a good thing.
I definitely consider it a good thing, even though I have been looking forward to trying those cornfields...I got a CW token and a Draped Bust half cent in the vicinity of them and figured they might be worth a try. The farmer that tends them was always very friendly acting. I may not give up hope yet and try to catch him out of his wife's sight lol.

Thanks Steve. I remember saying I would probably find a shield nickel before a silver one and a couple weeks later that happened! I didn't even give a 3 center a thought. I have V's, buffs, shield and now the 3 cent...guess there's only one thing to shoot for, right? Thanks.

Thanks! Good to see you out and about. If I had known that is all it took, I would have gotten out for a hunt earlier lol!
