My ace 350 was a more than great starter detector, found a ton of coins exc. didn't like the fact the housing isn't waterproof so when it rains your inside!! So I bought the at pro and was blown away by its performance

Mine seem to run a long time on a set of battery's???? I'm guessing around 30-40hrs use. If you don't use the headphones,I've heard it will go through the batterys faster. I've ran mine down to one bar on the battery graph, and still found coins.

I just went thru my first set of batteries with my at pro,had the headphones in the whole time...anyway I changed them out at the 30 hour mark and still had two bars...

Sent from my HTC6435LVW using TreasureNet

I bought Energizer rechargables at Walmart when I first got my ATP 1-1/2 yrs. ago. Still on the same set. They won't last 30 hrs. But they will last all day. I just recharge them the night before I go hunting.
I would say the rechargeables will pay for themselves after your second set of regular batteries.

I use rechargeables a set of Sanyo Eneloop 2500 mAh and a set of Energizer 700 mAh, the Energizers gives me a good week, the Sanyo's well over a week...I think the key to using rechargeables is a using a good smart charger, the one I use is a La Crosse Technology BC-700 without complaints.

I use the same brand charger. It has a reputation of being one of the best rechargers. It charges each battery individually which allows for a better recharge and longer lasting batteries.
I got mine on Amazon.com
You can also get the enloop batteries on Amazon.

This is the one I use.

Here is the BC 700.

Read the reviews on them and then make your own choice on which one fits your needs.

I dont know if i have that issue...I knwo sometimes im hunting and i see that i only have a couple bars....but then the next day it shows all bars for a bit, then drops down again...But I wouldnt say they eat batteries.

And unlike the Garrett Pinpointer...which you ALWAYS Need to make sure you have good batteries in...the ATP even with low life of the Battery, doesnt effect the depth or signals at all...in fact i have found alot of good stuff with it only have 1-1/2 bars

You should get approximately 30 hours out of a set of Alkaline batteries. Rechargeable are fine, but they tend to drop off quickly at the end. I buy good quality alkalines for .25 each, so it costs me about a $1 for 30 hours of use. Now in my Etrac, I use the Sanyo Eneloops or the RNB Lithium Ion.

Using 2500 mAh battries would make a world of difference on operation time, but I'm like Wayne,I just buy alklines and pitch e'm when they are done. It figures out at about .03 per hour. Even I can find three penny's a hour!:laughing7:

Duracell and energizers get best life. 25-3- hours here. Thats a good deal when you can usually pay for them in a few hours hunting.

I'd stick with name brands or national brands to insure no battery leakage. I use CVS drugstore batteries and have good results with them, usually cost me about 25 cents each on sale. I personally have had bad results with dollar store chinese batteries.

So the cheap dollar store batts would be my best bet?

I wouldn't go that low. Some of he low end one don't put out enough juice and cause the machines to not perform as well.
