I have a Garrett AT3 that needs to be checked out. I know Garrett doesn't work on these anymore. Is there anybody else who does. The problem is that after the unit is turned on, its sounding off as the coil is swung. Jiggling the cord that leads into the box gives the same results. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: Garrett AT3 Repaired

Found the problem myself. Opened the unit and found a loose wire had come off a terminal, slid it back on and squeezed it with a pair of needle nose pliers to tighten it and it works good as new. Most times it's usually just a loose wire that plagues the operation of a metal detector. ;D
