You should have put batteries in it and turned it on. A detector is like a woman, cold to the touch at first, ignores your wishes till you warm up to her, not her to you. Then you can call that tramp a tramp.

I did not understand my Garrett Scorpion the first time i took it out. But I'm not going out to trade it in. I'm finding a lot of gold and other trash with my piece of trash detector.

Well, I have plenty of experience with several 2 Box detectors.
I had an old Whites 500XL that went 6' to 12' depending on the soil for targets larger than a softball.
I now have a Hays that has a range of 6' to 12' depending on soil.

When I lost the 500XL in a fire, I picked up a Garrett with Bloodhound attachment. I tried it for a week and discovered it would only go 3' down on a good day. I sold it to a Garrett lover who said he could make it do better. You can draw your own conclusion. Frank...
