I'm a pennsylvannia native and I always wondered why people choose to stand in the freezing cold to see this ground rat.. I went once and that was more than enough for me.. Also how is he not supposed to see his shadow with 50 news cameras and lights pointed at him

Yup, exact same situation here...except our (Wiarton Willie) is an albino. fleabitten rodentso he predicted 6 more weeks of Winter

Saw a little of it on the weather channel before day light, and it was raining. How did it see it's shadow in the rain?

In reality, Phil's prediction is decided ahead of time by a group called the Inner Circle.
So they may have decided what his predition would be on a sunny day last summer
