There have been very few types of shows, gold/detecting/firearms/motorcycle/camping/prospecting/etc. that I've found to be poor but then I'm a cheap date so it does not take a lot to please me. Good luck with the choice...............63bkpkr

I have never been. But anything in Vegas is always done big and you can't really go wrong in Vegas for a few days!! I bet they would put on a good show one day I'll make it out there for that one!

I bought my detector at one, years ago in Tucson. It was a great place to compare machines.

lot's of other cool stuff too. Not as big as I hoped, but worth the stop.

cool i think im going to go i still have a friend or two there so if all else fails ill just visit lol it sounds like a really good time and man they give away some really good stuff. it;s at the south point at 109 a night ill get one for cheaper.

I go only to the Vegas Gold show, It's great, Good classes, Fun contests, Lots of gold, Awesome door prizes, Great people to meet and share stories with, and Vegas is just out side. I go to the outlet malls with my wife. We Stay at The South Point Casino. Great Pool and spa. Last couple years the Grand Door Prize was the Cripple River Expedition in Alaska. All the vendors put Prizes in the pot.

Definitely in the plans to attend the LVNV show. Anyone know how many exhibitors were showing last year?

I've been to quite a few over the years, then worked one with Armadillo Mining in Redding one year. Always a lot of fun and they have some great classes for everyone. Las Vegas sounds like the place to be :)

yep im going for sure now, the only bad part is well its not tell the end of april lol.

ok so i got my room for the show, the south point hotel wanted 109 a night with the show discount but i went to pricline and got a room for 36 a night at the Baymont Inn And Suites only 2.7 miles from the show total out the door for two nights was 95.36 man i cant wait.

its almost time, im going to head out after lunch on friday. looks like the girls are going to do some shopping while me and my little boy go and play lol.....

My lady and I are headed over on Friday as well, my first gold show and I'm getting all pumped. Looking forward to the food, booze and Bass Pro Shops as well.

this is my first show also, we are going to bass pro too going to be a fun weekend.

When I went to the GPAA Gold & Treasure show this past year in Denver, I was there for about 1 1/2 hours (total time). I would think you might be hard pressed to stay much longer unless you came for the seminars (which I did not attend). Mostly I looked at (and bought) some of the dealer products. Even then, the choices were not all that exceptional in what was being shown (I tend to buy at local shops, online or build my own gear).

I was glad I went, but the show in Denver had a pretty limited variety of equipment for sale (and a lot of different vendors with pretty much the same stuff at the same prices). They also had a very limited amount of Metal Detectors - many of which were general purpose detectors (only a few that were good for Gold Detecting). It also gave me some good ideas if things I wanted to try to build.

I bought books/geological maps, some smaller gear and a Gold-N-Sand hand suction tool. If the show were in Las Vegas, I would have made a weekend trip out of it, but not for just this show.

NOTE: our GPAA club had 1/2 off ticket price coupons for the show - Check with your local GPAA (or the one in Las Vegas) and see if they have something similar.

well i just got home from a weekend in vegas the show was great i picked up abunch of stuff and got to meet the massie family my kids had fun early in the days panning and finding really good gold, next time i might go by my self though i didnt get to go to any classes or stick around for the best part the door prizes. i will go again next year.

I would have like to have gone to the show but I will be in Vegas in July for the World Series Of Poker and can't justify two trips within months of each other. Maybe the next one in Phoenix next year.

I went To the Gold Show last year too. Then hit Bass Pro Shop, Harbor Freight, WalMart, all the hot spots. I love Vegas. Got to play in 2 poker tournaments at South Point. Won 2nd place in one, and did well at the craps table too. Paid for the trip plus some spending money for Ann to hit the Outlet Mall.
I went desert mining in the Mojave Desert this year. I can catch the show next year.
