I recently went to the museum behind my house. and saw in the learning center, on a wall was a map. this map. tmp_IMG_20140105_135310_0951223884737.jpg well I went back today to ask about the mine in the map. thus giving me the pictures I'm posting. PS this is from a book they will not sell and keep out of sight under the front desk. now for some more information.

hope you guys like what I have dug up. pun intended.
oh I went to the wrong creek but still found one or two 200+ mesh gold per pan.
does anyone know why the mine is only recorded in this one book and not on any place on the Internet?
PS. I just saw in the preview that the pics rotation switched back sorry I can't fix that with my phone.

It's a mining scam from 1897. Nothing new, it's been going on since mining began. As the book says even the geologists of the time knew the geology was all wrong. As Mark Twain said, the definition of a mine is "a hole in the ground with a liar standing next to it."

The only valuable metals from that area are the mercury mines east of there.
