Hello Gang! I hope you all had a wonderful begining to your New Year. On New Years eve I had a couple of hrs to spare so I thought I'd go to a local school 15 min. away. In the wood chips I came up with this nice silver chain and dolphin diving over an aqua blue stone. I also got a 51 D whty. which I forgot to put in the pic. Of course the regular clad less than 3 dollars. Anyway a great couple hrs out swing'n. I'll have to go back and hit this place hard. I havent met anyone in my local area that metal detects.
An individual I know well is the director of the John C. Campbell folk school. She knows I love to metal detect. Our conversation at our annual New Years Eve party led to me asking about the school and detecting there. Oh! No problem, whenever you want. Just not on weekdays around the school itself The school is like a huge house which is separate from everything else. Else? Woah Hoooooo!! You wouldnt believe the scope of this place and only 9/10mi from my house. So, New Years Day I was there around 11:00am. Took two photos of the woodworking building. You can see the woodchip walking paths which crisscross the whole folk school area. I put the camera up, got my gear on. I walked down the path to the front of the building, ground balanced and the first hit was this gold wedding band. I couldnt beleive it. I ran back to the car and took the close up. First hit on the first day, cant beat that. Further down I came across the coper piece which is part of the activities they do here at the folk school. Later, I came up across the pewter eagle in less than a foot away, the other one. The little ring which is hand made was in the leaves by the edge of the parking lot. Another activity here at the school. For all I know the eagles could have been crafted at the school too. All in all a great beginning to the New Year. HH Detectahead
