Gold?

I found this in the sand at the bottom of a slide at a local playground.The chain is unmarked,the medal says 999.9 it is very thin and somewhat heavy and is bent.What makes me think it is not gold is the cartoonish type horse on the other side. Any ideas?

Its looks like a Thai Baht chain, I've got couple like it 23K. soft gold and worth $$. Is the hook for pendant a "U" squeezed closed? I was lucky to get mine cheap when I was visiting my dad there in 74, paid about $100 for chains weighing about 2 1/2 oz.

i dont think they usually do make much 24k jewelry because its so soft. i guess they make some though.

On my last trip to Thailand I bought my wife a beautiful 24k gold ring with emeralds. ITs the only 24k ring I have ever bought. Shame it was in with all of her rings when they were stolen on our military post in Hawaii.

The gold there and the ring from there was awesome.
